Large Paintings

How the Sectioning System Works

For Large Paintings Only

Large paintings can be difficult to transport, move through buildings, and install. Conventional solutions, such as shipping the canvas rolled, reduce shipping costs but still require the artwork to be professionally stretched and handled again before installation.

My large paintings are created in sections that are assembled on site to form one continuous original artwork. The sections follow the geometry of the composition, so once installed the painting reads as a single work rather than a series of separate panels.

Each section is constructed on rigid plywood, covered with cotton canvas, and painted by hand using oil paint and mixed media.
